Day 88

We missed the gardens at the Government House yesterday so we visited the gardens this morning and saw a hare and a family of grouse during our walk. Then we visited the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Heritage Center which is adjacent to “The Depot”. The Heritage Center is a museum all about the RCMP and included a virtual reality segment where one can participate in the RCMP Musical Ride and we did. Our first experience with VR. Unfortunately, we had to remove our glasses so everything appeared a bit fuzzy to me. The Depot is the training academy for the RCMP and Monday is graduation day which means a parade. So we boarded an electric vehicle and toured the Depot and then watched the parade. A whole lot of marching and foot stomping but enjoyable. Afternoon we were back at the Legislative Building to watch the vignettes where historical events were acted out. Very cool. Same 3 actors as the day before at the Government House. We visited Tim Horton’s for its wifi and a latte for Rosemary. No decaf latte so I had a maple dip donut. The donut was good but the wifi was terrible so we ended up at a coffee shop so Rosemary got her decaf latte and I got some ok wifi.
