Day 69

Departed Green Bay area and headed to Walmart in Wausau, WI, about a 2 hour drive. We visited the Woodson Art Museum which had an nice exhibit of bird paintings and sculptures.  There was also a very nice sculpture garden. We then drove about 25 minutes to the Dells of the Eau Claire Park and hiked along the Eau Claire River. These Dells were mostly basalt rock and did not have the horizontal layering that the Wisconsin Dells did.

Day 68

We visited the Cannery Public Market. Not a public market that we were expecting. A restaurant with a small shopping area. So we headed to Door County, the peninsula between Green Bay (the water body not the city) and Lake Michigan. We stopped at the Door 44 Winery for 5 free tastings. Wine is a bit on the sweet side so no purchase made. We then went to Grandma Tommys next door and bought some locally grown Rainier cherries. Smaller than the west coast cherries but still good. Next we went to the Door County Winery and Distillery. The winery had 7 free samples. Wisconsin wine is ok but not too great so again no purchase. Lunch at the Inn at Cedar Crossing in Sturgeon Bay. We ended the day walking in the park at Egg Harbor.
