Thursday, July 13, 2017, Wisconsin Dells, WI
Day 63

Departed Spring Green and headed to the Walmart in Wisconsin Dells.  The Dells are limited to about a 15 mile stretch of the Wisconsin River and are horizontally flat layers of limestone (“dells” are from the French word for tables) exposed by the river. We took 2 boat tours, one along the lower Dells (about 1 hour) and another along the upper Dells (2.25 hours). The upper tour had stops at “Witches Gulch” and “Stand Rock” which provided trails among the rock features. After the boats we walked along the downtown strip which was so honky tonk that it competes for the prize of being the biggest tourist trap in existence. So our stay in the Dells will be a one nighter.
