Friday, July 14, 2017, Sun Prairie, WI (Madison)
Day 64

We visited the International Crane Foundation in Baraboo only 5 minutes from the Dells. There are only 15 species of Cranes in the world and ICF claims to be the only place to see them all in one spot. We saw 13 of them including a pair of Whooping Cranes. One pair was hiding and one pair was indisposed due to illness. Beautiful birds and an excellent, enthusiastic guide made for a great experience. Next we drove 40 miles to Camping World in DeForest, WI, a suburb of Madison to repair our shore power cord and to buy another surge protector. The Wisconsin State Fair RV Park in Milwaukee had a faulty power pole which damaged our cord and surge protector. Fortunately, no damage to the electronics in the coach. The new surge protector has a LED read out to warn of problems so future trouble can be quickly indicated before melting can occur. Since we were getting repairs, we also got new valves for the black and grey water which each had slight leaks. We checked into Walmart in Sun Prairie, WI. We drove 20 minutes to shop at Trader Joe’s in Madison to get some needed goodies.
