Day 4.  Sunday, July 29, 2018.
A 40 minute drive to Lake Lure for a walk across the flower bridge and then a boat ride on the Lake.  Beautiful scenery and perfect weather made for a delightful ride.  Lunch at the new Burntshirt Winery in Chimney Rock, a beautiful building completely designed by Staci.  The food was fair but the “Wine of the Month”, a Reisling for $12.95 made the meal much better.  Dessert at El Rio for my favorite mamey ice cream included 4 mamey pops to go for later in the trip.  An early evening concert at Blue Ridge Community College featured the band “The Super 60's”.  All of the  music was from the 1960's and was enjoyable despite the realization that we knew the tunes which were all over 50 years old.

Day 3. Saturday, July 28, 2018.
A drive to Asheville for a tour at the New Belgium Brewery was fun with samples of Abbey and Fat Tire among others.  Lunch at Apollo Flame Bistro was a very good $10 Greek salad which fed both Rosemary and me.

Day 2. Friday, July 27, 2018.
We arrived in Hendersonville, NC, for our weekend visit with Staci and gang.  Our passports had already arrived.  Dinner at Umi where we had Bento boxes and then a walk along Main Street to view the Corvette car show and listen to live music at the town square.

Day 1.  Thursday, July 26, 2018.
We departed Tampa early to meet friend Tim for lunch in Lake City, FL.  Easy 3 hour drive.  During lunch, Tim inquired as to process of crossing the border into and out of Canada which is our destination this trip when it hit us that we forget to bring our passports.  After contemplating detaching the car for the 6 hour round trip back home to retrieve the passports, cooler heads prevail and we call our friend Elliot who fortunately, I gave a key to our house just in case.  Elliot retrived the passports and sent them by fedex to Staci in NC, our next destination.  After lunch we continued on and spent a quiet night at the Walmart in Athens, GA, after a 463 mile day.
