A morning bus and walking tour of Vienna, Austria, included views of the Opera House, Hofburg Palace and St. Stephens Cathedral. We stopped in to a coffee shop where Rosemary got a macchiato latte and I had a Heisse Shokolad, the best hot chocolate I have ever had and I have had a lot of them. Thick, rich and delicious. Next was a visit inside St. Stephens and then a subway ride to the Belvedere Palace and Gardens. The Belvedere has an excellent collection of Gustav Klimt including his famous “Kiss”. There was also Monet, Van Gogh, Renoir and Manet. Definitely worth the visit. After dinner on the ship, we bused to the Palais Auersperg for a concert of Mozart, Shubert and Strauss. An 11 piece orchestra played and was accompanied on a few pieces by opera singers and also two dancers. The acoustics in the venue was incredibly wonderful as was the performance. Walking time 3:43, 14,721 steps.
