Day 3, 4/30/18.  Monday.
A morning bus trip to Keukenhof Gardens.  A constant rain could not dampen the thrilling colors of the gardens featuring tulips of every size, shape and color plus daffodils and many other flowers.  After walking the gardens and taking beaucoup photos, we hit the garden’s café.  Several locals have claimed that their apple pie was superior to America’s so we had to sample it for ourselves. After one slice of Dutch apple pie I was convinced. Firmer apples, not overly sweet and better crust made it so if we ever have it back home we will be disappointed.  After lunch at the hotel’s café we took a tram to the Van Gogh Museum.  A collection of 200 of Van Gogh’s originals including his famous “Potato Eaters” was fantastic.  Almost seemed like as much color in the museum as in Keukenhof Gardens.  Two trams brought us to our Viking Ship, the Skirnir.  Wonderful room and dinner.  Exhausted but somehow we did not get to bed before midnight.  The ship departed about 11:30 pm but it was so smooth we never felt it leave the dock.  Walking time 3:32, 12,896 steps.
