Day 52
We departed Elkhart and after about 2.5 hours arrived at the McCormick Place Truck Marshalling area for our 4 day stay in Chicago. McCormick Place is downtown Chicago’s convention center. Lot B allows RV overnight parking but this is dry camping, no facilities at all! With Aaron coming to join us tomorrow, we’ve prepared the best we could to not run out of water for the 3 of us for 4 days. This included filling all of our gallon water bottles we have used on the trip so far for hand and dish washing and toilet flushing thus reserving our 55 gallon water tank for showers. After dinner at Ed’s Potsticker House, we walked along the Lake Shore Trail which was full of people enjoying the lakefront beach with charcoal grilling everywhere.
