Tuesday, August 9, 2016, Stephenville, NL
Day 73
Took the car an hour drive west along the Humber Arm waterway to Blow Me Down Provincial Park located on a peninsula. We hiked the Governor’s Staircase, a 30 minute rather steep climb. The climb was well worth it with views of the Bay of Islands, the Blow Me Down Mountains, Lark Harbour and York Harbour. The hike down brought us to a beach where we had our picnic lunch. Back to the coach and departed Corner Brook. Arrived in Stephenville and stopped at the visitor center just before it closed at 5:00. The visitor center is located in a hockey arena, the “Stephenville Dome”, with a tremendous parking lot so we asked and received permission to park there overnight. After dinner, we saw the play, “Perfect Wedding”, at the Stephenville Theatre Festival, an enjoyable romantic comedy.
