Day 43, Monday, July 19, 2021, Glenville, NY (84 miles)

An easy travel day to Arrowhead Marina & RV Park (50 amp, W, DS), a pretty park on the Mohawk River near Schenectady.  Walked the campground twice after dinner. At 9:30 pm, we picked up our son Aaron at the Albany International Airport who we had not seen since January, 2020, and who has not had a haircut since then either. Maybe we will get Rosemary to do the job as she did with Daniel and with me. Aaron made all our Baba Louie’s leftovers disappear.

Days 41-42, Saturday-Sunday, July 17-18, 2021 Otis, MA (Sandisfield)

Visited Rosemary’s sister Beth and brother-in-law Joachim at their house in the Berkshires. The Saturday night drive back to the campground during a heavy thunderstorm was very exciting. The visibility was extremely limited with no street lights, no road reflectors and no painted striping on the roads. I believe I drove down the center of the road at a speed of 15 to 20 mph with the wipers on the highest speed which was not really fast enough. Just as we arrived at the campground the rain let up a bit. On Sunday when we headed to the house and the gravel “road” leading to the house was partially washed out and I drove with half the car on the upper side of a hill to get passed.  I borrowed Joachim’s snow shovel (the only shovel he had) and walked down the gravel “road” and successfully repaired the road for the later trip back to the campground. Baba Louie’s Sourdough Pizza take out for dinner was very good and leftovers for another time. Another great family visit with Beth and Joachim which included a nice walk to the West Lake, a state park.

Day 40, Friday, July 16, 2021 Otis, MA (Sandisfield) (105 miles)

Morning visit with Kathy and Bob. Departed in the afternoon and an easy drive (except for a 35 minute slowdown on the Mass Pike) to Camp Overflow (50 amp, W, honey wagon).

Days 37-39, Tuesday-Thursday, July 13-15, 2021 Millis, MA

A very great visit with Kathy, Bob & Jamie. Dinners brought in from Lilac House Chinese, Joff’s BBQ and Primavera Italian. Believe it or not but I got the pleasure of mowing the lawn of our hosts to their surprise while they were out. Mowing lawns was something I did as a teenager to have fun, and to make some money. We mostly just visited and did not go anywhere. Another nephew, Brian, came to see us briefly even though he was preparing to vacation in Hawaii the next day. A very nice and appreciated gesture.

Day 36, Monday, July 12, 2021 Millis, MA (175 miles)

An easy travel day to visit Rosemary’s sister Kathy and her husband Bob and son Jaime. As I hung one more year on the line, Kathy surprised me with a candle in gourmet cupcakes while everyone sang happy birthday. Since we have been traveling my b-day is usually just with Rosemary so it was a very nice celebration.
