Day 47, Friday, July 23, 2021, Tupper Lake, NY

A beautiful lake like Tupper Lake is one reason I had purchased a Sea Eagle inflatable two seat kayak which I carry in our RV basement. We had a one person kayak delivered to our campground for Aaron and we spent hours rowing around the lake. For dinner we cooked hot dogs on our campfire followed my more roasted marshmallows. Tough life indeed!

Day 46, Thursday, July 22, 2021, Tupper Lake, NY

Morning hike with about a 600 foot elevation gain to the top of Coney Mountain. The top offered a spectacular 360 degree view of the area. It also offered wild blueberries for the picking which we did. Delicious but not as sweet as the store bought variety. After lunch visited Bog River Falls which offered a split waterfall and lots of rocks to climb. Next we hiked to the top of Goodman Mountain about a 700 elevation gain. Although the top was not a full 360 degree view, the view was spectacular anyway. Best of all, we had the mountain to ourselves. Back at the coach, we started our campfire. After dinner we roasted marshmallows with 72 percent chocolate chips inserted. The marshmallows roasted just right with the melted chocolate chips were fantastic.

Day 45, Wednesday, July 21, 2021, Tupper Lake, NY (135 miles)

Travel Day along curvy, mountain roads in the Adirondack State Park. Checked into the Blue Jay Campsite (FHU 30 amp) in Tupper Lake then drove around the town. Visited a farm market but did not make a purchase. After dinner hiked around the campground. Campground is a beautiful spot right on Tupper Lake.

Day 44, Tuesday, July 20, 2021, Glenville, NY (Albany)

Today we visited Albany and the Empire State Plaza which is comprised of the NY State Capitol, the Corning Tower, the “Egg” (a performing arts venue) and many other government buildings. We had a guided tour of the Capitol which was constructed from 1866 to 1899 with 5 architects involved in the design. The building is quite ornate but built without a dome. We visited the Corning Tower which has an observation deck at the top, the 42nd floor. Great view of the city and the Empire State Plaza. We walked to the Son Of Egg, a small Korean fusion restaurant. Aaron and I had bulgogi sandwiches which were large and delicious. Rosemary had her yogurt. Our walk around downtown had a stop at the NY Court Of Appeals, the highest state court in NY. Although the building was closed to tourists, the entrance officer gave all of us brochures of the Court’s history and a gavel shaped pencil. Afternoon bubble teas at Storied Coffee and Bubble Teas topped off a very nice day.
