Day 10

Finished waxing the front end of coach begun yesterday.  Then afternoon trip into Asheville.  Dropped the girls at the Biltmore Village shopping area and Jon and I headed to the Asheville Pinball Museum.  After a couple hours playing about 2 dozen different vintage pinball machines, we headed to the Wicked Weed to quench our thirst after that strenuous workout at the museum.  Lil' Heresy Brown Ale did the trick.  Picked up a couple girls (Rosemary & Staci that is) and headed home for well deserved relaxation.  Dinner of bbq ribs and a can of Appalachian Mountain Brewery porter to add to the collection.

Day 9

Morning tour of the Mills River Sierra Nevada Brewery.  Beautiful new facility with a hands on free tour as we got to smash the hops in our hands to release the oils and smell the aromas.  Tasting room included 8 different beers.  Reservations for the tour are a must as is a visit if one is anywhere near Western NC, even if one is crazy enough not to be a beer drinker.  Then lunch in its restaurant with more beer (not free this time).  Side trip to Camping World to buy another rug.  For those counting, that makes 3 rugs on this trip so far.  Hopefully the last.

May 7-8, 2015, Thursday & Friday, Hendersonville
Day 7 & 8

Short 65 mile drive from Gaffney into the mountains to Staci and Jon in Hendersonville.  Staci’s homemade lasagna was a big hit for dinner.  Friday trip to Tryon and Saluda with lunch at Green River BBQ, great collards and BBQ slaw.  Later we attend the Bear unveiling on Main Street in Hendersonville.

  1. That pinball looks pretty sweet. I bet you could have spent a lot more than just two hours there.
