Day 33, Wednesday, Portsmouth, NH

Depart Cape Cod and head north.  Going by Plymouth so we decide to go see the rock.  Cute town and drive by the rock but traffic is heavy and nowhere to park the coach so we head on.  Stop at Salem and visit the House of the Seven Gables and a guided tour.  Also visit the home of Nathaniel Hawthorn author of the book of the same name.  Walk around the town and then continue north. Arrive just outside of Portsmouth in the early evening and check into the Newington Walmart next to another coach.

Day 32, Tuesday, Cape Cod, MA

Early start to go clamming.  We hit the beach and overcast skies and strong winds make it quite cold before we even hit the water.  I started wondering what I got myself into since we planned on being in the water for the next few hours.  Hypothermia crossed my mind.  Boat trip to the clam grounds and the sun starts to shine.  The area is also less windy and the water about knee deep is not cold.  We dig in, literally, and begin.  Glenn and I share filling a bushel.  I am sure Glenn chose one bushel for the two of us to fill as he did not want to be shown up by this Floridian.  Together we filled two bushels.  Lots of fun and the back held out just fine.  Lunch at Tiki Port, their favorite “American” Chinese restaurant.  The afternoon cruising around seeing the sites followed by a dinner of “Cape Cod Stew” (see photo).  Rosemary had scrod (see photo)(thankfully chicken was not on the menu).

Day 31, Monday, Cape Cod, MA

Departed Millis and headed to Cape Cod.  Checked into Old Chatham Road Campground which is in South Dennis about 10 miles from the new house of our good friends, Glenn & Paula.  The new house is beautiful with a view of the water.  Dinner in the new house where we spend the night (our first night not sleeping in the coach in a month).  We spent the night due to Glenn and I having to get up early the next morning to go clamming.  Rosemary basks in the running water and enjoys her shower - alas no photo allowed.
