Day 64, June 4, 2019, Tuesday. Issaquah, WA (Seattle)
To heck with jet lag as we spent our last day in Seattle with a morning visit to the Kubota Garden, a 20 acre historical Japanese Garden. A very serene place with a surprising array of colors of the trees. We then headed to the International District and Chinatown. First stop was Young Tea for bubble teas, a place recommended by our son, Aaron. A good recommendation indeed. Next, with our bubble teas in hand, we visited Uwajimaya, a huge Asian grocery with a food court inside. We had shrimp & chicken rolls from Saigon Bistro and Combo #2 from Uwajimaya which was Chinese bbq pork and roast pork with vegetables and rice. The pork was fantastic which is a rating above delicious. We bought a couple items in the grocery but were limited by the non-refrigerated backpack space. After walking around Chinatown, we walked through downtown Seattle to Pike’s Place Market but not before we came upon Intrigue Chocolate. After about 10 samples of chocolates from various countries, we made a small purchase. At Pike’s Place, we sampled more goodies and made more purchases including another Amandine at Le Panier. Although the ride back to the campground was during rush hour, we got to use the carpool lane which allowed us to zoom past much of the traffic.

Day 63, June 3, 2019, Monday. Issaquah, WA (Seattle) (approx. 3,000 miles)
Another 3,000 mile travel day as we flew back from Boston to Seattle to resume our motorhome trip to Alaska.

Day 62, June 2, 2019, Sunday. Millis, MA
We departed Hyannis and drove 20 minutes to the Barnstable house of Rebecca’s parents to visit the grandkids. The grandkids are growing up fast. They were also very fast on their respective bicycles. A very pleasant visit which included a walk to the seashore where we explored various sea life and shells. We drove back to Kathy and Bob’s and brought in Lilac House Chinese for dinner.

Day 61, June 1, 2019, Saturday. Hyannis, MA
A morning walk to the beach and to Main Street in Hyannis followed by lunch at the Original Gourmet Brunch. It advertises over a hundred different omelets. The food and service were very good. We even were able to substitute grits for the fries. Then the wedding at 4:30 at the Wychmere Beach Club in Harwich Port. The weather cooperated mostly for the outdoor ceremony and Kathy’s son Brian and Christy became husband and wife. The reception was indoors and a good time was had by all with lots of great food and much dancing until late. It was a special day with family including all of Rosemary’s siblings for only the fourth time since my introduction into the family in 1982, especially with everyone dressed up to the nine. The bride was beautiful but I believe may have been outdone by the groom’s mother, and of course, by Rosemary too.

Day 60, May 31, 2019, Friday. Hyannis, MA
Kathy was kind enough to loan us her car and Rosemary and I drove to Hyannis on Cape Cod to the house of our good friends Paula and Glenn. Unfortunately, they were still in Tampa. Glenn gave me instructions via phone to de-winterize the house. After some sightseeing around they area in the afternoon, we had dinner at the Summer Shanty in West Dennis which is near where the pre-wedding party was being held. I had a dish called “Lobster Indulgence”, a lobster roll with double the lobster (½ pound), fries and coleslaw and it also came with a cup of New England clam chowder. Rosemary got a caesar salad topped with a 1/4 pound of lobster. Absolutely a delicious meal enjoyed on the outside porch overlooking the water. We then drove to the Ocean House Restaurant for the post rehearsal dinner party. The party was outside along the water with a misty fog and strong breeze which made for a very cold event.

Day 59, May 30, 2019, Thursday. Millis, MA (approx. 3,000 miles)
We did travel 3,000 miles today but obviously, not in the coach. Today we left the coach at the campground and flew from Seattle to Boston for our nephew’s wedding. Rosemary’s sister Kathy and husband Bob picked us up at the airport and we stayed with them for the night.

Day 58, May 29, 2019, Wednesday. Issaquah, WA (Seattle)
During our search for a good place for lunch in Chinatown, we decided on the Dough Zone Dumpling House and as an added bonus, it had another location only minutes away from our campground. Soup dumplings, steamed chicken potstickers, beef stew noodle and broccoli with oyster sauce was so delicious I forgot to take a photo. After lunch we visited the Bellevue Botanical Garden, 53 acres of rolling hills and trails among various gardens and woodlands. Along one trail was a suspension bridge, and with a little trickery, I got Rosemary to actually cross it. We then hiked an old growth forest loop trail at Weowna Park.
